Psychologist

Hours: Part time - 3 days per week

Salary: Up to £53,600 (£7,500 joining bonus)

Location: East, West, Central and North Midlands

We are collaborating with a private client, a rapidly expanding provider of safe and nurturing children's homes, specialist education, and supported accommodation across England. Established in 2007, the company has grown to a team of over 1,000 colleagues.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Psychologist to join their team.

Please note a driving licence and access to a car is required. Tier 2 sponsorship cannot be provided for this role.

Duties and responsibilities for the Psychologist are:

  • Deliver evidence based therapeutic and psychologically led care which conforms to the standards outlined by the HCPC and BPS under supervision
  • Undertake comprehensive psychological assessments and write psychological reports for children and young people in the care of Horizon Care & Education
  • Develop, write and regularly review/update therapeutic care plans for children and young people in residential care and education
  • Manage a limited caseload for individual intervention, providing specialist psychological input to young people and teams in residential care and educational settings
  • Contribute to the development of a therapeutically informed service across education and residential teams.

Minimum requirements for the Psychologist are:

  • Experience of working with Children and Young People or relevant demonstrable transferable skills is essential
  • Post-doctoral knowledge of applied psychology including developmental lifespan psychology, models of psychopathology
  • Experiencing in the assessment and management of self-harm / risk / crisis management / safeguarding
  • Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision.
  • Practitioner doctorate or equivalent accepted by the British Psychological Society as qualifying the person to work as a clinical/ counselling/ forensic psychologist/relevant qualification to enable HCPC registration
  • Knowledge of Therapeutic practices
  • Experience of working with sensory strategies
  • A desire to support services through embedding therapeutic practice
  • Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
  • Ability to work autonomously with the support from individual and peer supervision
  • Ability to role model behaviours and attitudes in line with organisational values
  • A sound understanding of Microsoft Office components, including knowledge of Excel, Teams and SharePoint
  • Full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle
