Acute Consultant Psychiatrist

Hours: Full Time

Location: Surrey

Salary: £154,000 p/annum PLUS £8,400 car allowance

This is an opportunity to join a team as a Psychiatry Consultant in a well established 24 bed locked rehabilitation service for men near Somerset.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Acute Consultant Psychiatrist to provide medical leadership, and to function as an active member of the multi-disciplinary team.

You will be based in a hospital of 51 bed secure unit with both MSU and LSU wards for male patients. You will take RC responsibility for one non-secure acute ward of 15 patients.

Key responsibilities for the Acute Consultant Psychiatrist role:

  • Ensure that people admitted are assessed, treated, and discharged safely
  • Medication management
  • Quality assurance, complaints and co-production
  • Delivery of NICE guidance
  • Lead and manage the CPA and ICR process to ensure full compliance with quality standards

Minimum requirements for the Acute Consultant Psychiatrist is:

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Full GMC registration with license to practice.
  • MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
  • To hold Section 12(2) approval to work in England and Approved clinician status.
